BENGALURU: A 23-year-old daily wage labourer succumbed to stab injuries he had received during an altercation on Wednesday night. Vinod, son of Daniel, was stabbed by his neighbour, a 17-year-old who assisted his father, a wedding decorator, and Nadeem, 19, unemployed.
According to police officials, the altercation began for a minor reason.
"Vinod and the juvenile are neighbours in Anandpur, Mysore road although they have not interacted with each other much.

On Wednesday night, Vinod was walking on the road, when he seems to have accidentally brushed against one of the two accused. In the altercation that followed, the juvenile, who was carrying a knife stabbed Vinod- twice on his left side and once on his stomach," police officials said.
Vinod was rushed to a nearby hospital and was in ICU till Friday night, when he was shifted to the general ward after he started responding to treatment. However, on Monday morning, he developed complications and died.
The police, who had registered a case of attempt to murder against the juvenile and Nadeem changed the FIR to a case of murder (Section 302 of IPC) and have also detained them. While the 17-year-old has been sent to a juvenile home, Nadeem is in judicial custody, police officials said.
Police have ruled out prior rivalry as a reason for the murder and believe it was a heated argument, under the influence of alcohol that led to the murder.
